This study investigates the relationship between parental involvement, friendship relationships, and academic achievement in Indonesian junior high schools. A quantitative research design was used to collect data from 800 students, including surveys and academic records. The results indicate a positive correlation between parental involvement and academic achievement, as well as between friendship relationships and academic achievement. Regression analysis confirms that parental involvement and friendship relationships are significant predictors of academic achievement. Moreover, mediation analysis reveals that positive friendship relationships mediate a portion of the effect of parental involvement on academic achievement. The findings have implications for parents, educators, and policymakers, suggesting that fostering both family and peer support systems is crucial to enhancing educational outcomes.
Encep Anwar Gojali Copyright (c) 2024 Encep Anwar Gojali https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-07-23 2024-07-23 1 01 01 12 10.58812/ephss.v1i01.37 Implementation of Environmental Law in Handling Hazardous and Toxic Industrial Waste https://asj.eastasouth-institute.com/index.php/ephss/article/view/17
The environment in Indonesia is regarded as a precious and divine bestowal entrusted to its people. Its preservation and advancement are imperative, as it serves as a foundation and lifeline for the populace. Upholding the principles of maintaining harmonious, purposeful, and equilibrium-driven environmental functions is pivotal in the nation's environmental management. This approach fosters informed development and aspires to enhance future generations' well-being and quality of life. The environment holds paramount significance in sustaining healthy living conditions and the continuity of life on our planet. Hosting diverse species and furnishing vital resources like sustenance, air, water, and more, demands the collective responsibility of each individual to conserve and safeguard them. The implementation of environmental law, particularly concerning hazardous and toxic industrial waste, is crucial for safeguarding human welfare and the environment. Such waste, classified as dangerous and harmful due to its potential to pollute and adversely affect ecosystems, necessitates stringent regulation. In Indonesia, the management of hazardous and toxic waste is guided by a comprehensive framework that encompasses clear regulations, ecological permits, vigilant oversight, robust legal penalties, efficient enforcement, and community involvement. The primary legal foundation is Law Number 32 of 2009, focused on Environmental Protection and Management, supplemented by Government Regulation Number 101 of 2014, which specifically addresses hazardous and toxic waste management. These legal measures are designed to ensure compliance by industrial entities, prompting responsible waste disposal to safeguard public health and the environment.
Agung Zulfikri Copyright (c) 2023 Agung Zulfikri https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2023-11-13 2023-11-13 1 01 13 22 10.58812/aslsh.v1i01.17 The Effect of Emotional Intelligence and Academic Load on Mental Health in Students at High School https://asj.eastasouth-institute.com/index.php/ephss/article/view/38
This quantitative study investigated the relationship between emotional intelligence, academic load, and mental health in a sample of 500 high school students aged 14 to 18 years. Participants completed self-reports assessing emotional intelligence, academic load, and mental health using the DASS-21. Data were analyzed through correlation and regression analysis. The study revealed a significant negative correlation between emotional intelligence and mental health, indicating that higher emotional intelligence is associated with better mental health outcomes. In contrast, academic load showed a positive correlation with mental health, indicating that heavier academic load is associated with greater mental health problems. Multiple regression analysis confirmed the significance of emotional intelligence and academic load as predictors of mental health. In addition, the interaction between emotional intelligence and academic load was also significant, indicating that emotional intelligence moderates the relationship between academic load and mental health.
Dian Andriawan Copyright (c) 2024 Dian Andriawan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2024-07-23 2024-07-23 1 01 23 34 10.58812/ephss.v1i01.38 Analysis of Legal Aspects in Indonesia's Waste Management Policies https://asj.eastasouth-institute.com/index.php/ephss/article/view/18
The discrepancy between waste production and its effective management is emphasized, necessitating a balanced approach by waste managers. Law No. 18 of 2008 defines Waste Management as a sustainable, systematic activity encompassing waste reduction and handling. Complex challenges in waste management are outlined, containing rapid waste accumulation, the need for heightened public awareness, and concerns regarding final disposal procedures. The surge in waste volume due to a consumptive culture underlines the role of state intervention and societal engagement. Moreover, community involvement, particularly in recycling, is pivotal to waste management, positioning it as an integral facet of public service necessitating regulation to enhance citizens' quality of life. The issue of waste management is depicted as a pressing challenge fraught with obstacles, especially notable in Indonesia. Various laws and regulations are identified, including Law No. 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management, Law No. 32 of 2004 on Regional Government (replaced by Law No. 23 of 2014), and Law No. 18 of 2008 on Waste Management, alongside regional regulations.
Supriandi Supriandi Riska Rahmawati Copyright (c) 2023 Supriandi Supriandi, Riska Rahmawati https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2023-11-13 2023-11-13 1 01 35 42 10.58812/aslsh.v1i01.18 The Effect of Online Learning on Student Achievement in Elementary Schools in Indonesia https://asj.eastasouth-institute.com/index.php/ephss/article/view/39
The integration of online learning into the educational landscape has reshaped the way elementary school students in Indonesia access and engage with educational content. However, like any profession, mediators can also fall prey to code of ethics breaches, consequently undermining the integrity and public trust in law enforcement. The study delves into various cases of code of ethics violations involving mediators in the context of law enforcement. Consequently, mediators must comprehend the rules that govern their interactions with fellow mediators and the public who use mediation services. Maintaining their profession’s ethics, authority, dignity, and honor is imperative for mediators, while loyalty to and enforcement of the Mediator Code of Ethics is essential. The Honorary Council oversees compliance with the Code of Ethics, thereby ensuring reasonable control and benefiting both members and the broader community. Maintaining fairness and transparency in law enforcement is indispensable for upholding societal justice. As neutral facilitators in dispute resolution, Mediators play a crucial role in helping parties reach mutually advantageous agreements. Nevertheless, practical challenges arise as mediators sometimes transgress the code of ethics, eroding the sanctity of the law enforcement process.
Yana Priyana Copyright (c) 2023 Yana Priyana https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2023-11-13 2023-11-13 1 01 62 68 10.58812/aslsh.v1i01.16 Moral Degradation of Police Agencies in the Perspective of Public Trust https://asj.eastasouth-institute.com/index.php/ephss/article/view/20
This text delves into the intricate fabric of Law Enforcement in Indonesia, highlighting the collaboration among diverse actors to uphold justice, equity, and societal order.
